Nike Hyperrev 2016 Performance Review

Nike Hyperrev 2016 Performance Review

Sorry Dame, the Hyperrev just kicked your shoe out of the top spot for best budget shoe as well as lots of shoes that cost twice the price. It’s no beauty but it’s s beast on court.
Ok no shoe is perfect but these are pretty damn close and into my top 5 rotation!  I really enjoyed the Hyperrev 2015  after a lackluster debut in 2014 so it isn’t that much of a surprise that the 2016 version performs wonderfully as well. What is surprising is how the little changes make the shoe perform so well .. And the drop in price from $130 to $110
Pros: Real Zoom in the heel and forefoot !!! That reason alone is enough to buy. Traction, stability, fit, containment
Best for: any position. Does everything well
Sizing: true to size although I think I could have gone half a size down if I wanted to
I find the traction better then last year which was already very good.  Fantastic on clean and semi dusty floors, very minimal wiping on dusty floors. No story telling, no experimenting with different compounds or patterns, just excellent  traction. It’s not in the top tier of Curry two, Kobe IX, AJ XX9 but it’s knocking on the door.
As Forest Gump would say, buying Nike shoes with Zoom is like a box of chocolate because you never know what you’re going to get. Thankfully for two straight years, Nike did a great job with the Zoom on the Hyperrev.
The articulation slightly assists with transition as well as partially unlocking the Zoom since it can compress almost  independently of the outsole.  The Zoom bags must be pretty large because they feel more lively than lots of unlocked set ups  Nike tech marketing says the toe is decoupled but I really couldn’t tell.
The 2016 feels more robust than the 2015 and require no break in time. You can feel it on every step, jump and landing . Why can’t they all feel like this ?
Well done Nike, please use this formula on all shoes going forward.
I went with my normal size 11 and had my normal finger width at the toe box. I had no issues width wise with no space side to side.  I have a wide foot but I think if I wanted a tighter fit I could have gone down 1/2 size. I think the shoe just looks big on foot but fits true to size.
Here is how I laced them for since I like a little more pressure across my ankle.
Getting the HR16 on is a little tough … Unless unless you’re  good with the ladies like me ????????.
You can either work the bootie with your fingers or just slide your foot in and pop the bootie back out . It is sturdy and won’t tear even with a good amount of force
I did manage to get a small ankle brace in for those who are wondering about that. The mesh doesn’t sit that close to the skin unless you have big ankles so there is space to work a brace in but I haven’t tried the bigger braces. I honestly think the top mesh portion could be done away with but oh well.
The way the shoe is designed is interesting to say the least but designed smartly. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the bump on the ankle.
Kanye might have left but his sunglasses  are still influencing Nike
I think the purpose of the bump is to provide more strength to the top of the internal heel counter and extend it a little higher.  Usually heel counters are stiff at the bottom and weaken toward the top of the heel. I’m sure other methods could have been used but it works so I can’t knock it.
Below: you can see the internal heel counter
The first layer is basically a sock with laces while the outside Fuse layer covers 2/3 of the shoe. The medial side doesn’t need fuse since it isn’t a high pressure area and is allowed to remain flexible.     Above: The lace straps come around to hug the foot. I advise tucking the laces under the strap because they are very long
The cut out between the toe box and strap allows for more natural movement. No pinching or binding. The Fuse isn’t the typical crispy Fuse of the past and flexes easily with little break in time.
The Velcro strap works but it isn’t like Soldier IX strap lockdown but more like AJ XX which means it is there but only minimally. It could have been made to be stronger if there was a strap loop to pull it over like the Soldier but it still does its job decently.
I had a few times when the strap popped off but that’s a minor complaint. It doesn’t pop off frequently the AJ XX did
What’s interesting about the fit of the HR16 is it doesn’t feel like it’s on tight  even when it is tightened to the max which takes some time to trust and get used to. Like the Curry Two, I pretty much forgot it was on even though I was locked in. No heel slippage at all for me thanks to a contoured ankle collar.
The HR16 borrows a play out of Soldier IX playbook and created a true one piece foot bucket; Everything is one block of Phylon between the upper and outsole. Support isn’t Soldier IX level since it is basically a sock with a sole and heel counter but stability is great so that makes up for it. And let’s face it, the Hyperrev isn’t meant to be super supportive.
Forefoot stability is excellent thanks to a long forefoot outrigger and the heel is nice and flat and passes my heel test. No tippiness at all.
Coming off the poor containment of the M12, I’m glad to say Nike got it right with the HR16.
The foot sits right where those vertical lines start so you’re contained heel to toe. Midsole foam is firm so your foot isn’t going anywhere.
My foot stayed in place on the hardest cuts abd change of direction. Sock with a fuse shell and a nice firm raised midsole bucket equals excellent containment.
If you want to see bad containment see the Melo M12 below
With the HR16, Nike put in real Zoom air, gave us excellent traction, stability and containment the Hyperrev 2016 and cut the price from $130 to $110. It’s like a unicorn in shoe form ! Aesthetically, it could have been better but I’m not going to complain.
See how much cleaner it looks without the top?   This is one hell of a shoe regardless of price and is probably my favorite performance shoe from Nike since the Soldier VI. I hope they don’t change a thing.  The best part of the HR16 is that as a team shoe these will hit sales and outlets for under $75.
Nice review. The Rev16 sounds like a great shoe. I will definitely pick up a pair once I find a colorway that I want.
So, what shoe did this know out of your top 5? The Dame 2?
Dame never made my top 5 due to traction . Great shoe though . I’m not sure what shoe it will kick out but here is my five .curry two rose 6 Clutchfit drive rose 5 soldier vi. Curry two is only one that has a permanent spot lol
Can you tell me what shoe is best for lateral/ankle support? I’m a very active guy and I have a very athletic aggressive play style, lots of quick burst and sudden stops and hard cuts. I have a new issue with my foot though and if the ankle brace and shoe don’t do their job to the T my foot rolls really badly. What shoe do you recommend
Curry two. It doesn’t have a bunch of support Up top but it is super stable underfoot. Very hard to roll it over. You sound like me Btw lol. Other shoes to look at for stability that I use Soldier Vi or IX, rose 5 or 6.
Schwollo I need your opinion…Lebron Soldier 6s or these?
Honestly the two play very similarly despite the different looks they have. I think soldier vi has more support and better heel fit so soldier vi
Nice review, not yet available here though. Will wait for the local drop and i’ll stock’em up. haha
how do these compare to the lebron soldier 9, cushion-wise? Also which has the best cushioning: lebron 13, lebron soldier 9, HR16? Thanks
I like the cushioning in these more than the 13 and soldier IX. I Can feel it more than the soldier and I have zoom covering the whole forefoot rather than hex pods. Also feels lower to the ground then the 13 which I like
thanks for the reply. i have bad knees and a bad lower back so cushioning is very important to me. So these have better cushioning, even though they’re lower to the ground than the 13 and soldier IX?
Get the Rose 6 if cushioning is your man concern . Zoom air is firmer then Boost but boost bounces back after absorbing your impact .
I actually have those in the xeno colorway. But I just got a nike gift card for Christmas and wanted another pair of hoop shoes.
I see . What else matters to you in the shoe ? All are designed to perform similarly
schollo: I see . What else matters to you in the shoe ? All are designed to perform similarly
billy6: Sorry, just got your reply. For some reason, I can’t reply back to your comment so I just typed out your reply above. For me I value: 1. cushioning 2. traction 3. ankle/lateral support and containment 4. everything else
… So I have the D rose 6, which I love. I’m about to buy another pair to rotate. Would you mind ranking these models purely based on how well cushioned they are : lebron soldier 9, lebron 13, hyperrev 2016, d rose 6, jordan xx8, jordan xx9, .
Also thanks for providing unbiased hoop shoe reviews. You are my #1 go-to source for bball shoe review. Please keep up the great work! ????
Rose 6, xx8, hr16, lbj 13, soldier IX, xx9 I put the xx9 last because it is forefoot only and the heel foam is just average . Forefoot alone would only put it ahead of the lbj 13 and soldier . Soldier IX feels good but muted compared to the rest . Hope that helps snd thanks for the kind words !
Might be a beast performance wise:.. But damn! They ugly af!
Where can we get this blue or cool grey colorway? The only item available in eastbay and footlocker are the red and black colorways. Thanks!
Nike.com has the blue I haven’t seen the grey yet
Thanks schwollo! Great review btw. These are gonna be beasts on the court!????
There are some sellers on Ebay with the grey cw.
Oh Just saw them im sure they will release soon
Well I ended up getting the grey off eBay for 90 shipped lol
Great review! I kinda dislike the looks, but I have the HR15 and love it. Already asking a friend living in the US to buy me – and thanks for the Eastbay tip!
Ha I didn’t like the looks much either but I’m willing to make that sacrifice lol
How would you compare the cushioning in these to the Lillard 2? Is Bounce cushion… Bouncy? Currently trying to decide between those two…
Bounce is bouncy but not like this Zoom . Bounce is full length though . I grew up with Zoom though but it’s so hit or miss now . Traction beats Lillard easily
Great review bro! Now I have to wait till they go on sale and this will be this season’s bball kicks! I have the 14 and still looking for a bargain on the 15, but prolly wait for the 16 price drop.
Ha 15 is good too but yea I’d wait for sales bc these will sit
Hey Schwollo, how do these compare to the Clutchfit 2 Lows especially the cushioning? I’m a sucker for legit zoom air
So am I . Zoom is super legit easily better then charged on cfd2 low. Traction is better . Fit is about the same on cfd2.
Sweet, will definitely have to try them out. If the zoom comes anywhere close to classics like the Kobe VI or Lebron II then im sold. On a side note, the Venomenon 5 have been a pleasant surprise, really comfy.
Great review. I’ll wait a couple of months and see if the price drops to 80 lol. Still enjoying the hyperfuse 2014. The zoom feels legit in those too and they’re light with great traction. Hell, since ppl wont buy them because of the looks, I can probably catch them at the outlets lol
Oh yea these will hit outlets for sure .
What do you think: superfly 3, cp VIII or hyperrev 2016? Thx for the answer ps. great job!
Never tried cp 8. SF 3 is good but the upper is super stiff unless you get the PO I prefer the hr16 bc it has zoom in heel and forefoot.
I personally like the hr16 better otherwise it wouldn’t make my top 5. Does everything well
I only worry about what you sad “it doesn’t feel like it’s on tight”. Now I play in soldier VIII and I like stability of this shoe. What you sugest?
I should reword that . I meant to imply that in a good way because it feels comfortable but odd that it doesn’t feel like anything. My foot was secure regardless of feel. I personally didn’t like the soldier viii . The Hr16 isn’t as protective as the soldier but it is stable underfoot which I think is more important. Does that make sense ?
I have heard lots of complaints of heel lockdown with these and that heal slides up. Which is basically a deal breaker if true. You said you had no trouble ?
I had no trouble which is rare for me on low cut shoes although I’m not sure what the hr is considered .
Thank you. It was sole brothers who said this shoe is bad. Not sure how reliable they are.
Neither do I . I just watched some reviews I don’t agree with a lot of them but everyone is different. Nice production quality on their vids though. As for the hr16 being “bigger ” looking yes it is bigger but thats bc of the outer fuse layer and the thicker Phylon midsole . Comparing it to the mentality 2 Is apples to oranges bc the mentality 2 is a shell of one thin layer with a drop in midsole so of course it will be smaller. Very different shoes. Nike Hyperrev 2017 Pink White Basketball Shoes For Men
But as far as traction goes, which one’s better: hr16 or mentality 2?
Not sure never played in the mentality 2.
Were you able to slide your heel out like in their video?
I didn’t try but I will when I get home . My foot was locked down not sure what happened for them
Just tried and no I couldn’t do that . Maybe he has super skinny feet ?
Nice review! Will definitely cop 2 pairs once released here. And btw, I guess this will replace either D Rose 5 or Soldier 6 on your Top 5 haha…
Hahha I can’t decide they all have a certain purpose and have things I love about them . Hyperrev is just fun great shoe
Sir, these,melo m11 or lebron ambassador 8?
Haven’t tried ambassador 8 . Melo m11 has better support and materials but that’s about it. Everything else is equal or better on Hyperrev
Great to see a good Nike performer.Do you suggest going half a size down for normal footer?
Man that’s a tough call but I think you’ll be ok half size down
NIKE ZOOM HYPERREV 2017 BHM sz 6.5 mens
hey sir, help me choose which to buy. Jordan Melo M11, Lebron Ambassador 8, or Nike hyperrev 2016?
sorry didn’t notice u just answered my question. thanks man.
Thanks for reviewing these! I wasn’t really considering these shoes very seriously as my next performance shoes, but they sound awesome. I am a 3 position or a 4 position, so these seem like a decent fit for me. I actually like the look of the shoes, but that’s just me. I also love the price. Thanks. I have read a lot of your articles, but this is the first one I’ve commented on. Thanks for doing these reviews. They are always professional, and talk about more than just the aesthetic and actually the performance. One of your previous articles convinced me to get the Jordan Super.Fly 3 PO, and I love them. One of my favorite things about these shoes is that you do ton’s of basketball shoes, and not some lifestyle crap all the time. Once again, thank you!
Nike Hyperrev 2017 Pink White Basketball Shoes For Men
Thanks so much ! I am very picky about my shoe needs and these surprised me as well . Actually saw Demarcus cousins PE and they look awesome . Guess it’s just color blocking
These shoes are definitely a bang for your buck. I played in them last night, they remind me of playing Nike Air Jet Flight – not sure if you ever got a chance to play in those. In my top 10 of all time.
Aesthetically, I love the way the shoes look. Only thing I disagree on, but it seems to be a polarizing shoe in terms of looks. Either love it or hate it.
Ha it looks pretty in certain colorways but it looks very segmented in others . I’ve seen some of the PE and they look great
Looks like I found what I’m going to use my Jordan 28 SE refund claim voucher on. I loved my 28’s and was worried I may never find another Nike with as much bounce combined with great traction. I’m a little worried the msrp price is so low that maybe they compromised the quality in some areas. Thanks for the review.
Actually they are really well made . No sloppy glue spots or anything like that. They did t use premium materials but they work perfectly fine . I loved the xx8 feel but the defect was a shame .
These or SF4? How about the zoom comparison for each?
Hyperrev better in both heel And forefoot . Easily
Grey well soon schwollo! I never played in the 29s but I did try them on and I could already tell that with my slashing style of play that it wouldn’t contain my foot. The upper was just too soft and gave way too much. I’m really interested in these but I feel like these have that same type of give if you know what I mean. I’m basically a running back when I stop abruptly and cut. Thoughts? Opinions? Recommendations? My favorite shoes to play and the only shoes able to contain me is the kobe 6, 5, and 4.
Hey solechild long time no hear ! You were one of my first readers. You and I are in the same boat and I suggest any of my top 6 Curry two, Hyperrev 2016, rose 5 or 6, Clutchfit Drive, soldier vi. kd 8 does a good job as well if you want a woven upper. Soldier IX is also a solid option but I prefer the Vi still
I’m still a reader bro. Big fan of what you’re doing here. You and Thegymratreview. I have to get on the team!
Not sure yet . My top 5 is really a top 1 and a four way tie for 2nd
I see, but do you prefer more the HR16 than the CFD or Rose 6?
As of today yes I do. Great Zoom and traction wins me over every time
I’m getting the all black this 15th come pay day time haha. I’m torn between the HR16 and the LBJ 13 “Black Lion” colorway. But with your review, inputs and experience, I would go with the HR16. Heck, might get the University Red cw too lol
Wait in Lebron XIII imo since prices will fall . Hr16 too for that matter . Lol
The LBJ 13 is on sale less 10% only here in the Philippines, as also the HR16. I think it will be later this year for the LBJ 13 to hit less 30% to 40%. But it depends on the colorway too.
Curry two still my top shoe. Hr cushioning is better curry two more stable and fit goes to curry two as well.
Thanks, I am from Peru and I wanted to buy both online. I was a little worried about the fit in the HR16, should I go half-size down?
Depends how wide your feet are and your personal preference. You’ll be fine true to size but if you want a tighter fit go half size down. Can’t try on anywhere ? Are there free returns ?
I cant try them on, because I will buy them online and a friend will bring them to me . Here in Peru is really hard to buy basketball shoes and most of them are really old. I read in other reviews that the HR16 was a little bit large so that´s why I thought that a possible solution would be to buy them half size- down. What would you recommend me?
It looks large but isn’t large length wise . I think you can go half size down though if you wanted to . I only tried my normal size and it worked for me
Just got my HR2016s . Great midfoot lockdown, I COULD wear it with an Aircast A60 brace, didn’t feel they were too difficult to put on, Zoom feels great bu bu bu bu butttt….got this heel lockdown issue. It really isn’t apparent if I dont hold the shoe with something AND it was improved if i passed the laces through the back of the shoe and then made the knot. I actually felt some dead space close to my heel but nothing I couldn’t play and that probably would be resolved if I had a 10.5 instead of a 11 .
Anyway, the lace behind the foot might be a nice tip for anyone with heel lockdown issues.
Wear them and break them in before you give up on the heel fit. This will allow the cushioning to compress and let your heel sit lower. That lace around the ankle does work though I just tried it
Hey Schwollo, what would you prefer out of the Curry 2, HR 2016 or HR 2015? Tried on the Curry 2 the other day and the fit is impressive. Thanks!
Curry two.. It’s my goto . Just does everything well .
Any chance you’ll get to review the LeBron Ambassador 8? Tnx
I don’t know . Kind of pricy to get shipped to the US .
Too bad, would you think it will be a good performer?
It look solid and nyjumpman said he liked them.
Hi. Got my Ambassador 8 yesterday and I used it immediately on our regular 2 hour fun game last night. And a practice session for 1 hour today. Fit was excellent, with some lacing adjustment on my right foot, I have to loosen up the lace on the 1st row. Traction was really good in both wooden and painted cement court. Cushion can be really felt, I’m more happy with this set up than the LeBron 13. I wake up today with no foot or calf pain whatsoever. Support and stability is solid especially on the heel section. Overall, amazing shoes! I’ll be getting the “Oreo” cw next. Tnx!
Don’t thank me thank Nyjumpman for reviewing them . Doesn’t surprise me that the ambassador is good . Damn I may need to try them now lol
Haha yeah I will thank NYjumpman. Yes bro you should definitely cop one, they are one of the best releases of Nike so far.
Tnx! I’ll pick up one this weekend, and I’ll let you know.

Hey schwollo, do you have any idea why nightwing would rate this cushioning set up below the d Lillard 2s? Seems like you really enjoyed this zoom set up, but nightwing only gave it a sixth man rating for cushioning and d Lillard 2 got a starting 5.
He has his preferences and I have mine. If you read nyjumpman and dukes reviews they both love the zoom as well.
do these have a tounge or fit like a sock like the 2014 hyperrev?
Do these have a tongue or do they fit like a sock how the 2014 hyperrev were?
Schwollo id like to hear your opinion about playing in the hr 16 outdoors? Ive read some reviews claiming that these are quite sticky even outside and the traction will only wear off a bit quicker when compared to playing indoors… what do you think? Fyi i live in israel where the shoes are pretty damn pricey but these are not only quite cheap but they perform well, so im debating beetwen these and the d lillard 2 bounce or the boost one
If it works inside well it usually works outside well . These will last longer than the Lillard 2 since the grooves aren’t tiny.. I think Lillard upper will rip up due to outdoor courts .
Nike Hyperrev 2017 Pink White Basketball Shoes For Men
Thanks man… i think im goona cop these tmrw, hope thy will hold up good outside cause i already destoyed my jordan infrared 10
Hey Schwollo, I’ve been reading many of your reviews looking for the best shoe for me. I just tried on the CLB16’s and the heel slip was too noticeable for me to keep. The main things I look for in a shoe are 1) traction 2) heel lockdown.
I know you’re a fan of these and you have the curry 2’s at the top of your rotation. I have a semi wide foot and play the guard positioning, lots of cutting and stops for crossovers but also jump a lot my favorite shoe so far has been the Hyperdunk 2011, do you have any suggestions that would help my decision? Thank you
You’ll most likely enjoy the curry 2 bc traction and lockdown are amazing. Curry 2.5 would work too if you want an even better fit. You didn’t mention cushioning so I’m assuming you’ll be ok with the curry 2 firmer cushioning set up. Look at my post about my top 10 . Traction is excellent on every shoe . Rose 7 is actually my number 1 right now
This is just a general question schwollo but I’ve bought these shoes off your recommendation but the insole fabric is starting to peel off from where the arch of my foot is and I don’t want it to keep peeling off to the point where it gets messed up. Or is there an insole I can replace it with to prevent this?
Put a small bit of superglue where it is peeling especially along the edges then a few dabs on other loose spots.
You must have pointy heels, lol. This heel slipped worse than just about any shoe I’ve ever tried on. Maybe I should try your lacing trick plus a half size down. These were really comfy fit and cushion wise. I wanted them to work …
Did u see the hyperrev 2017? They look pretty nice besides no heel zoom????. Containment and traction look nice. Materials functional with a targeted fuse underlay with the mesh.
Nike Hyperrev 2016 Performance Review
Ha yes I saw them. I’ve decided to wait out on most budget models because they drop in price fast and hard . 65 or less is right for those or the Zoom Live as well.
Ya im waiting too. 88 on finishline was tempting but im waiting for a little more
Good sir, look at this Nike Air Zoom Hyperace , its the recycled volleyball version
Zoom in Rev 16 and Bounce in Lillard 2, which one is firmer?
Rev 16 I guess? Real Zoom vs anything foam is hard to compare
So is the zoom better in the forefoot on the Hyperrev 2016 than the Jordan Super.fly 3 po?
Barely? How? Isn’t unlocked zoom waaaay better and bouncier than bottom loaded zoom?
Hyper reg has similar set up as unlocked Zoom with its protrusions. Superfly 3 Zoom isn’t as protruding as the AJ xx8 which had the most Zoom feel. //nike-hyperrev-2016-performance-review/amp/
For some reason zoom on hyperrevs feels as good as unlocked zoom I own a pair of sf3, melos m11 and xx9, well and of course a pair of hyperrevs
It’s the protrusions and bigger Zoom. That’s a nice line up of cushioning !
I know it’s crazy but this one or Curry 2? Or both lolllll No I’m serious
I still play in the curry 2 a lot especially during tourneys. Hyper rev is great but the heel counter got too flimsy after playing in them so I ditched them.
How does the zoom in this shoe compare to the zoom in the soldier vi?

Nike Zoom Rev 2017

Nike Basketball has released the latest within the HyperRev line — the Nike Zoom Rev 2017.
Another budget friendly option from the Swoosh, the Nike Zoom Rev 2017 retails for $110. Featuring bottom loaded forefoot Zoom Air and a Phylon midsole, this rendition of the shoe is the first in the line to not feature cushion in both the heel and forefoot. Thick open-celled mesh is used to construct the upper along with strategically placed Fuse in high-wear areas and stress zones.
If you wanted to know more of my thoughts on the Nike Zoom Rev 2017 then check out our detailed look and review below. Stay tuned for the upcoming performance review and let us know your thoughts on the latest Nike Hyper Rev model.
They took out the zoom heel cushion so they had to take hyper out of the name.
But Hyper has nothing to do with Zoom. Hyper is part of HyperFuse which is a material still present on the shoe.
The forefoot is reli plush and bouncy, and u right I wish they had heel zoom. The contrast that the forefoot zoom in this shoe has created really made the heel felt clunky, although it probably isn’t.
Nike needs to have more variety in so far as cushion. They have so many forefoot only Zoom set ups now.
gotta love the ripple effect of the outsole it’s prolly gonna give you selective and on demand traction i bet
I actually like some forefoot only set ups. If the foam is nice it makes for a really smooth transition.
At $110 and forefoot zoom only I’ll wait for the PG1. Are zoom air bags really that expensive? Adidas is catching up Nike, Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black White Men’s Basketball Shoes better be late than sorry.

The Nike Zoom Rev 2017 is Available Now

New year, new me – said the Hyperrev line, as Nike Basketball gives the budget line some Ritalin – renaming the shoe the Nike Zoom Rev 2017.
Nike has been known to throw in the word Hyper on many of its sneakers dating back to the Hyperdunk, so this name change would be a big shift from those times for Nike Basketball. Who knows why exactly the name was changed, although the spelling may have played a part
In any case, the surprisingly well-performing budget line is back in 2017 with a new look.
The Zoom Rev 2017 appears to feature a similar textile upper in terms of the ‘Fuse backing, although this version looks more ventilated in select areas. A pull tab is added to the heel, making this version a lot easier to sneak your foot into compared to the 2016 Hyperrev. A more plush collar lining looks to improve comfort in the area as well. The classic herringbone traction looks promising, with the pattern moving up to the sides much like the Kyrie line. The only real downside of the shoe is the removal of Zoom Air in the heel .
Click HERE to check out the Nike Zoom Rev 2017 which retails for $110.

No heel zoom in another budget model, why am I not surprised
Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black White Men's Basketball Shoes
The heel zoom wasn’t reactive on the 2016 model?
It’s real simple for me…..I’m not buying any shoes that don’t have full length or at least both forefoot and heel cushion. Too many options out there. Nike/Jordan can kick rocks if they don’t bring it.
Seriously. Nike/Jordan has so many models that have gone backwards or stagnated in so far as cushioning. Nike’s become way too complacent.
That shoe needs heel zoom and a redesigned strap. Nike play too much.
I feel like this traction will be pretty bad. With the arch off the ground and the weird exaggerated ripple on the sole, it seems like theres not much actual traction touching the ground
It might be exactly as you say, Nike Hyperrev 2017 Royal Blue/White-Gum On Sale but I kinda think that the outsold will flatten out when pressure is applied like the Kyrie 2.
Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black White Men's Basketball Shoes
This is extremely disappointing to me. Why? Because one of my favorite Nike Budget model was the Nike Hyperrev 2014. It featured FULL LENGTH ZOOM for only $120. Honestly that shoe was a huge bang for my buck. It’s a shame that nike has to take away the full length zoom and made it heel and forefoot. & Now they’re only doing forefoot zoom?! Like what?!?!
I totally agree. Nike keeps on disappointing by removing tech every year and by releasing ‘new’ models that are just some D grade performers with no real tech just because they’re a ‘budget friendly model’. And it is sad to see so many people wearing those bullshit models just because they’re Nikes
Wait, so why would I get these over the Hyperdunk 2016 low that’s now 110 or cheaper? LOL! The hell is Nike really doing? They aren’t the only company slacking in some departments I guess but they sure do make it easy to spot.
Am I the only one who’s disappointed by the overall design? The original Hyperrev was something fresh and original that I thought had great potential. Last year seemed to be headed on the right track but it now appears that the shoe has devolved into a generic, bland budget model
The uppers look great, the big-booty midsole, and reduced cushioning is bad though.
So now Nike makes an ACG boots for balling? These better withstand rain and storm like other ACG boots
Don’t they have a bunch of budget models already with forefoot-only zoom? Why bother making another one?
The rev line was known for its heel and forefoot zoom. They should’ve just called this the hyperfuse 2017.
nike hyper rev,Nike Zoom Hyper Rev
At first i thought these looked to bland compared to previous iterations. But the black and gum look great despite the more traditional design.
No rear zoom? Oh shit, not for me then. I mean…. Nike Hyperrev 2017 Pink White Basketball Shoes For Men T

In celebration of Black History Month, NBA players have begun rocking special edition sneakers on the court which honor the ideals of Martin Luther King Jr., non-profit organizations like the Nike Ever Higher Fund, the African community and other iconic pieces of Black culture. Gilbert McGregor and Kyle Irving discuss the meaning behind these tributes, their all-time favourite “BHM” edition kicks and share some personal stories along the way.
Welcome to Cloth Talk! An ode to the phrase coined by DJ Khaled, NBA.com’s Gilbert McGregor and Kyle Irving delve into all things style in the NBA. Nike Hyperrev 2017 BHM Black White To Buy From uniform reveals to sneaker choices and everything in between, the two experts give their takes and provide clarity on concepts that are impossible to ignore.
If you missed the first editions, catch up on the teams with new uniforms , a rundown of the Classic Edition uniforms that will be worn , our rankings of the league’s best “City Edition” uniforms this season and an in-depth look at the Atlanta Hawks MLK City Edition in relation to the importance of how the NBA celebrates Martin Luther King Day .
Today, we highlight Black History Month by diving into our favourite “BHM” edition sneakers.
Gilbert McGregor ( The calendar’s flipped to February, meaning it’s now officially Black History Month and the NBA has already begun a number of initiatives both on and off the court that will extend well beyond the month itself.
Specific to things on the court, I always think about the Black History Month edition sneakers that typically feature Nike’s now-iconic “BHM” logo. I also feel like we haven’t truly devoted a Cloth Talk to shoes just yet and this feels like the perfect place to start, right?
Kyle Irving ( It’s crazy it’s taken us this long to dive strictly into kicks, especially given how you and I are such big sneaker junkies. While Black History Month is important for reasons so much bigger than basketball shoes, it’s still a great topic for Cloth Talk because shoe brands always show out with their BHM Edition sneakers.
That Nike BHM logo has become a staple associated with their special edition shoes and there are so many that come to mind that I’ve always been a fan of or wanted to add to my collection. When you think BHM Edition kicks, what’s the first pair that comes to mind for you?
McGregor: I’m glad you asked that. I wasn’t sure if this is when the brand began but I first remember seeing BHM on Nike sneakers on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2011, which, now that I think of it was 10 years ago.
I did some research and learned via a Sole Collector interview with Nike designer Jonathan Johnson Griffin in 2011 that the BHM collection began with an internal Air Force 1 design long before the designs were brought to the court on MLK Day in 2011.
It was there that I learned that gold was chosen as a prominent colour for a reason because “whenever you see gold in sports, it’s because someone has won something or they’ve been honoured. They’ve found their call to greatness.”
The BHM initiative was brought about to honour pioneers in sport that found their call to greatness and inspire the next generation through the words and accomplishments of influential Black icons to find their own personal call to greatness. And that iconic logo? Back in 2011, Johnson Griffin said they wanted to have longevity with the project. 10 years later, I’d say Nike was on to something.
From that collection, which also honoured the 35th-ever Black History month, I specifically remember the Kobe 6 because it was such a sharp sneaker and the original Hyperfuse because a crazy story resulted in me ending up with a pair of my own. I guess I can’t foreshadow the story without getting into it, right?
Irving: Don’t keep the people waiting Gil. Let’s hear it.
Long story short, it was my senior year of high school and I was still a ballboy with the then-New Orleans Hornets . As a background, the team had acquired Marco Belinelli earlier in the season and I knew he and I both wore a size 13.
Anyway, he broke out the BHM Hyperfuse for MLK Day but I don’t think he was a big fan of the fit because he switched back to Hyperdunks and let the Hyperfuse sit in his locker.
After a week or two of just staring at them, untouched, I mustered up the courage to ask if he still wanted them because, unbeknownst to him, my high school wore the same shade of gold on our uniform and, after a few ankle injuries, I was in search of a new shoe to play in.
Basically, Marco’s one of the coolest guys I’ve come across and he let me have the BHM pair as well as another red pair that I didn’t even ask for and it ended up being quite possibly my favourite basketball shoe ever. I wore them throughout the remainder of my senior year and beyond until I literally couldn’t wear them anymore.
NBA Cloth Talk Discussing the significance of NBA sneakers that pay tribute to Black History Month
And as a bonus, as I was looking for a picture of Marco wearing them, it happened to be against DeMar DeRozan and the Raptors . Oh, and DeMar’s got on the BHM Kobe 6s.
Nike Hyperrev 2017 BHM Black White To Buy
Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black Gum
I had some of my best high school performances in those sneakers so I guess in a way, I found my call to greatness in the athletic realm with those on my feet.
Irving: And if you aren’t going to tell them… if you look closely in between DeRozan’s legs, you can actually see Gil sitting on the opposite baseline. But that’s besides the point. Buy Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black Red Online That story is incredible and those BHM kicks are always going to have a special place in your heart because of the memory that resides with them.
This is the perfect segway because, ironically enough, the very first shoe that comes to mind for me are the BHM Kobe 6s. I wanted those so badly. DeRozan actually broke them out the other night against the Memphis Grizzlies to kick off Black History Month.
The Kobe 6s are the best basketball shoes I’ve ever played in and Nike nailed the BHM colourway. They always do such a good job with any BHM edition kicks but the Kobes, in particular, are what my mind is drawn to when I think BHM basketball shoes.
McGregor: It’s crazy how it comes full circle over 10 years, with DeRozan wearing the Protro Kobe 6 in black and gold after wearing the originals back in 2011. And this year, I’ve noticed the BHM shoes in white and black with gold accents.
Nike Hyperrev 2017 BHM Black White To Buy
But before I get too deep into how it’s all come back around to 2021, there have been some other really unique colourways and ideas surrounding Black History Month over the last decade. I was reminded of that when I saw Julius Randle pull out the BHM Kobe 8s from 2013 the other day when the Knicks were in Portland.
The 2013 Black History Month colourway was chosen for its boldness as part of a campaign that saw financial contributions made to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America with proceeds from the collection.
Naturally, I was intrigued by the different direction Nike has gone in from year to year, so I looked back at the different BHM collections over the past decade.
That was a lot of information for you but I enjoyed learning more about the designs, who they honoured and, ultimately who was benefitted most by the initiatives. Specifically that Nike Ever Higher Fund, which has been a big focus of BHM efforts.
Irving: There’s a lot to unpack there, but it’s all valuable info on the subject. I didn’t know any of that, and as you said, it’s always cool to see why brands choose the certain colours and styles along with certain ambassadors for different initiatives and most importantly, what groups, funds and charities the initiatives are going towards.
And going back to your question, I do remember those Kobes that Randle is rocking. He had the right idea wearing those kicks because they couldn’t pair more perfectly with those Knicks jerseys.
As you noted, while Nike started with the black and gold theme, they have experimented with other colours. One of my personal favourite colour combos was the black, green and red that pays tribute to the Pan-African flag from 2016 that you hinted at on that timeline. For those who don’t know, Pan-Africanism is a worldwide movement that aims to encourage and strengthen the bond of solidarity between all people of African descent. The movement began back in the early 20th century and is still celebrated and honoured to this day.
I was already preaching about the Kobes, but my other favourite BHM sneaker is the KD 10 that dons the colours of the Pan-African flag.
Funny enough, because I never got to hoop in them in real life, they’re usually a go-to for my MyPlayer in NBA2K. If you ever crossed paths with me in The Park in 2K20, my guy was always rocking the BHM KD 10s.
Just a clean looking shoe and I love the multi-coloured laces. It even has a gold script on the side that reads “5.6.14”, the date of Durant’s famous “You the real MVP” speech.
McGregor: 1. That’s a credit to 2K for the realism of their sneakers within the game, actually.
2. Kudos to you for sticking with it and not switching things up once your MyPlayer became accustomed to rocking that shoe. Gotta stick with it.
I think including the colours of the Pan-African flag are an awesome way to keep things fresh while keeping the initiative as the main thing, so to speak. Anytime I see that shoe I think of Pascal Siakam , as he pretty much wore them throughout the Raps’ title run in 2019.
To think that these photos are from games that aren’t just played in February is a subtle reminder that these celebrations aren’t limited to just one calendar month. As a quick aside from the sneakers, I did see Trae Young arrive for a Hawks game on Feb. 1 wearing a sweatshirt that read “More Than A Month | A Movement”.

I don’t think I could think of a better phrase to encapsulate what it’s really all about.
Irving: I learned from LeBron James’ tweet this morning that those crews are actually for sale with all proceeds going to the New Georgia Project Action Fund, an organization that fights the latest voter suppression efforts in Georgia. Buy Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black Red Online

The Jealous Curator curated contemporary art

I kicked off 2021 with an Ashley Longshore episode , and I’m gonna wrap the year with one, too! Yep Ashley is back on the podcast today. We’re talking about JOY with a capital J … finding it in the little things, bringing it into our artwork, and not letting the state of the world break us! She also prepped a few questions for ME this time around . Listen right up there under Dorothy in Beverly Hills, or subscribe to ART FOR YOUR EAR wherever you download your podcasts. ps. Yes, there is some colorful art — and language — in this episode, so little ears probably shouldn’t listen!
First up, paintings from Ashley’s time at the Artist-in-Residence at the Peninsula Beverly Hills :
Ahhhh, fabulous still lifes and giant teapots! I didn’t realize how big they are… now I love them even more.
Next, a few of my faves from Ashley’s “Still Happy” series:
Speaking of happiness, haute couture astronauts in ruby slippers:
Up next… there really is no place like home, just ask Dorothy:
Gorgeous. I love those rosy cheeks. ps. That’s Buttercup relaxing on the studio floor. Sweet girl.
From sweet girls to fierce women… here’s a peek at Ashley’s ongoing portrait series, currently housed at Diane von Furstenberg ‘s flagship store in New York:
… and here they all are in one beautiful book, titled ROAR ! Thank you so much to Ashley for bookending my 2021 with her contagious energy. First up, Andrea’s tiny kitchen and stills of the magic that gets cooked up in there:
Oh, it’s all so perfect, and yep, I made sure to include the “red thing” that so many of you had questions about! Spoiler alert: it’s a red pepper that didn’t make it onto the plate. To see alllll of these videos, check out Andrea’s Instagram feed , or pop over to this page on her site .

Gasp! Seriously, I cannot get enough of these beauties! The detail is bonkers.
Next, a little peek at her solo show, titled “My Candy Nightmares” , at Talon Gallery in Portland:
YUM! I know she said the “monsters” have less detail than the white pieces, but they still look pretty perfect to me!
Okay, and here’s what you find if you scroll right to the bottom of Jacqueline’s Instagram feed. She wasn’t kidding when she said things started with baby skull candles:
Of course I had to include some of her jewelry, given her career history! ps. You can still buy some of these pieces in her shop . Just sayin’.
And finally, we can’t finish the post without showing you this sweet little lady:
Awwwwww! And she has a donut toy… of course she has a donut toy. Thank you so much to Jacqueline and Skylar for being on the podcast today, thanks to  Storyblocks for supporting the episode, and as always, THANK YOU for listening. There will be a brand new episode of ART FOR YOUR EAR in two weeks.
You guys, I cannot wait for you to hear today’s episode of ART FOR YOUR EAR! London based Estonian photographer, Sirli Raitm a is on the podcast. Sirli spends her time dressing her muse in bizarre fashion, and decorating said muse with fabulous hair and makeup. ps. Her muse is her mother, Eha . Gah! I love this ongoing series so much, but even more, I love how this mother/daughter project came to be. Ooh, and wait till you find out how Sirli became a photographer. This story is a family affair filled to the brim with inspiration. Look and listen right up there under Eha listening to, I assume my podcast , or subscribe on Apple Podcasts .
Let’s kick things off in the wilderness… the first place Sirli ventured with her camera:
Deer, fog, foliage, and oh… look at that, an Eha in the wild! Perfect segue into the beginning of the “EHA” series, when the photographs were black and white:
Ah , gorgeous… but clearly, she’s begging to be shot in COLOR! Okay, this post could have had a gazillion photos in it, so here are just a few of my faves that feature the hot pink and bright orange eye shadow we mentioned:
Yes, yes, a thousand times YES! Speaking of which:
Ha! Those photographs are in order of my fave, Sirli’s fave, and the internet’s fave. And look at this fabulous mother and daughter at an art show featuring their creations! Living the dream, ladies.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering if Eha still has legs…
Now, I know all of this attention hasn’t gone to Eha’s head , but I just had to include a few ‘soaking it in’ moments:
Wooohoooo! I love all of this more than I can even begin to put into words.
Oh, and then I suddenly remembered how I found Sirli’s work in the first place! I follow an insanely talented artist named Lavely Miller , and she did this painting of Eha:
Yep, the painting took my breath away, and then I started down the rabbit hole that lead me directly to Sirli’s portfolio.
And finally, a couple of casual shots of this creative, hilarious, loving duo:
Cheers, indeed! You two are so inspiring… may this project go on for years and years to come! Thanks so much to Sirli for sharing her story with us; Buy Nike Hyperrev 2017 Black Red Online thanks to Storyblocks for supporting yet another episode; and of course, thank YOU for listening. These wonderful, narrative, painted porcelain beauties are the work of Korean-born, Brooklyn based artist  her work/story in one of my books } , so when I saw these pieces from her 2020 series,  , it was time to write again! If you don’t already follow  Ahrong on Instagram , you should… she posts  so  many process videos, giving us a peek behind the porcelain curtain. Check out  this one , and  this one  … just for starters!
“I create elaborate site-specific installations that are equal parts absurd, menacing, and poetic. Pattern and tactility confuse and complicate identification, camouflaging recognizable forms and evoking recognition when applied to non-objective forms. The tensions between fact/fiction and dimensionality/flatness are endlessly fascinating to me, playing out in my work as a dialogue between reality and illusion.”
Absurd, menacing, and poetic… love, love, love! ps. Not only is she a working artist, Liz is also a Professor of Installation and Drawing at  Minnesota State University-Mankato.
Are you tired? If not, listening to everything Vancouver based artist Sandeep Johal is doing might make you wanna take a nap! Murals, residencies, installations, solo shows… oh, and she also has a 6 year old son. Told ya. This busy, full-time artist went to university for… biology? Yep. She refers to her twenties as ‘the lost years’, but as you can see, she is now very much found! Listen right up there under Sandeep beside one of her murals, or subscribe on  Apple Podcasts .
So, where should we even start? Well, let’s jump in with just the tiniest peek at a few of Sandeep’s murals:
So fantastic, and seriously, there are a lot more where these came from. Keep an eye on her Instagram feed, because there is always a new wall being prepped!

Alright, let’s take a step back to the work Sandeep was just starting when I met her. Here are just a few of Sandeep’s very emotional “Rest In Power” goddesses:
The piece in the middle is Natsumi Kogawa, the Japanese woman Sandeep mentioned. It’s so horrific that this series could go on and on and on. Hopefully their stories will be heard, and justice will prevail.
That’s not an easy topic to segue from, but there is more work to show you. Here are a few of Sandeep’s ‘beast’ collages:
Yes, this is exactly what we were talking about! Different mediums, but still very much Sandeep’s style. FYI,  these pieces are currently available through @vanartrental … just sayin’.
Speaking of beasts, here’s a look at “Beast of Burden” Sandeep’s final show for her residency at the Burrard Arts Foundation :
So fantastic! This was Sandeep’s first foray into textiles and, yeah, she nailed it. And, of course, there was so much talk about Pennylane and Jamie that I had to pop this photo in!
And finally — oh my word this is so good — “What If?” . This installation is on right now, until December 11th, at the Surrey Art Gallery in Surrey, British Columbia:
Custom wallpaper, too!? Love. If you’re anywhere near Vancouver between now and mid December, get yourself over to the Surrey Art Gallery to see this show in person… So. Many. Details!
Let’s wrap things up with a little ‘how it started / how it’s going’ combo, shall we:
Oh hell yes! From a birthday girl at McDonald’s to a MAMA BEAST! Thank you so much to Sandeep for taking the time to tell us all of her stories; thanks to Storyblocks for supporting the episode, and great big thanks to YOU for listening. I’ll be back with a new episode of ART FOR YOUR EAR in two weeks.

Gasp! I want to go to all of these cotton candy places! This is the absolutely dreamy work of Lisbon based artist Teresa Freitas – that’s her in the final photograph – and these are her equally dreamy words about her work:
“The visible secret behind my work lies in how colour can transport us to a subtle change of reality. While the places in my photographs exist, at the same time there is something a little bit “off” about them. We wonder if they are true or if we’re just inside a dream.
I like to play with familiar motifs – palm trees in Palm Springs, a Chinatown street, the architecture of St. Petersburg – and then subvert them into something less tangible and more cinematic. My artistry lies in my composition, yes, but primarily in the conceptual and aesthetic way in which I use colour. You will see both bold and pastel hues in the same image – a visual paradox that our minds aren’t used to and a play on colour that is very interesting to me as an artist. Beyond that paradox is a sense of calm and happiness that continually permeates my work.”
Ahhh, calm and happiness. That works for me. Teresa’s work is available through Subject Matter Art and you can follow her on Instagram at @teresacfreitas .
Whoa. These insanely fabulous sculptures/shoes are the work of Toronto based artists  Marina Dempster . In the spring of 2021 they were under glass at the Art Gallery of Burlington  as part of a two-person show, titled  ‘In Visible’,  with  Meera Sethi

COVID-19 UPDATE AND HOW ALBION ANTIQUE AUCTION CENTRE WILL OPERATE
To all our valued customers, YES we have made changes as to how things operate and will continue to monitor and review them to ensure all of our health and safety in this uncertain time. With the adoption of the AVAA Auction Protocol and our own house rules, we feel this is going to be the best way to conduct our business moving forward.
As instructed by the Prime Minister on Tues 25th of March Traditional auctions for the moment will no longer occur. We have decided to move all the auctions for this period to the platform INVALUABLE.COM, previously we had charged the 5% USD surcharge that we get charged by Invaluable to use their platform to all successful invaluable clients, in the current climate I have decided to absorb that costs, so ALL auctions and bidding methods for the moment will have, the buyers premium of 18.5%. Our auctions will work the same as our Sunday sales as in you can bid Online Live, Absentee or by Phone, whatever way your successful you only pay 18.5 % Buyers Premium. NO one can PHYSICALLY attend the auction no longer
Every WEDNESDAY 9am- 3:30pm, or by appointment Only. We have tried to provide you with sufficient photos, and estimates on our website and  invaluable,  You can also request the old fashion condition report.
We are more than willing to help organize Carriers, or Post items to you If you do want to collect your assets, again our preference is for APPOINTMENT ONLY, my staff will get your items together for you, and you will be assigned an area to pack and remove your items.
Our Preference for payments is to be made via Credit/Debit Card or Bank Transfer. As we move to Online Only, We do accept cash but preference is for Electronic payments. Vendor Payments will be done later as payment and collection/delivery for online is always somewhat delayed which will push out our normal time frames
We are taking items in, but this will be done by Purely Appointment Only, we will be making changes to what we take in now that we have to move to an online model, so moving forward No corner lots will be taken in at this stage. We will also be a bit more selective at this time as Online is a lot more time consuming for us.
First off DO NOT ATTEND our site if you are sick, unwell or think you’re unwell. Our Sanitation station will remain at the front of the door, everyone MUST clean their hands when entering our building, gloves are available to use if you wish.  Social Distancing of a minimum of 1.5m MUST be adhered too. It was first introduced by Kyrie Irving and then worn by Paul George, but now that both these players have their own signature models, Nike is taking the shoe a different direction with a new design and new name — the Nike Zoom Rev. Featuring a unique grooved outsole, the shoe is set atop Nike Zoom Air technology for cushioning and impact protection. A unique sidewall traction allows for lateral grip with a breathable mesh upper. The shoe will be released in both a new “White/Pure Platinum/Ice” and “Black/Gum” colorway for $110 USD.

Nike Basketball will soon launch the latest in the Hyperrev series, the Nike Hyperrev 2017 . The first colorway we have spotted comes in a clean Black and Gum which will launch during the early part of 2017.
Looking closer at the Nike Hyperrev 2017 made for performance, they come in a clean Black and Gum color combination. Looking closer, they feature predominate Black throughout while covering the mesh uppers, tongue, liner and laces. Anthracite is used across the Nike Swoosh and tongue branding. Other details include Black across the midsole while Gum runs across the outsole.
